[WordPress Security] PSA: Lessons From the Atlanta Ransomware Situation

At Wordfence, our focus is WordPress security and helping you secure your WordPress site. But website security also extends to the security of your desktop and other systems. This morning we are posting a public service announcement to discuss the ransomware situation in Atlanta and lessons that can be learned from it. 

We include a series of steps that you can take to protect yourself against a similar infection. Based on the press conference that Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms held yesterday, we also provide an update on the status of Atlanta's systems. 

Next month, the Wordfence team will be at WordCamp Atlanta, which is being held from April 13th to the 15th.
